Process safety focuses on the prevention of fires, explosions, and accidental chemical releases in facilities where hazardous materials are handled and processed.

DEKRA acquired Chilworth in August 2011, supplementing our explosion protection laboratories in Germany and the Netherlands with additional consulting offices in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, and India as well laboratories in the United States (Princeton, NJ and Chicago, IL) and in Southampton, England.

    Chilworth has state-of-the-art ISO 17025 and GLP (Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority Good Laboratory Practice) accredited dust explosion, gas and vapor flammability, and electrostatic testing laboratories and specialist facilities for the evaluation of thermal runaway reactions and energetic materials (pyrotechnics, propellants, explosives).
